England Women Reveal U19 Squad for World Cup Clash and India Series

England Women U19S have selected a 15-player squad for their largest-ever winter cricket programme, which will conclude with the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup in Nepal and Bangladesh. After completing a series of training camps in the UK, the squad will head to India in November or December 2026 to compete in a five-match T20 series. Following that, they will stay in India for an additional week to further develop their outdoor skills ahead of the ICC tournament scheduled for January or February 2027.

Phoebe Brett from Warwickshire is the only player kept from England’s 2025 Under-19 squad, alongside 14 uncapped players in the new selection. Maria Andrews, a non-travelling reserve for the 2025 tournament, has now been named in the full 15-player squad. The ECB said it will name a captain separately before the tour.

The 2027 edition marks the third occurrence of the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup. England’s latest campaign concluded at the semi-final stage of the 2025 tournament in Malaysia, after they were beaten by India, who then went on to win the championship. India enters the 2027 cycle as reigning champions.

Maria Andrews of The Blaze, who served as a non-travelling reserve during preparations for the 2025 tournament, is now part of the full squad. The five players serving as non-travelling reserves for this World Cup will participate in all training camps, including the sessions in India following the T20 series. Head coach Chris Guest said: “This is an exciting opportunity for this group of players who will be the best-prepared squad we will have sent to the U19 Women’s World Cup.”

The coaching staff have established two distinct goals for the winter. The main competitive goal is winning the World Cup, but the wider program also aims to provide players with early exposure to the demands of a professional cricket environment over an extended timeframe. Five non-travelling reserves have also been confirmed to back the squad throughout the programme: Ava Clive, Ivreen Dhaliwal, Libby Fellows, Lucy Randle-Bissell, and Isobel Thorndike.

Guest added, “The goals for the winter are dual-focused. We want to win the World Cup, and we are also developing players and helping them prepare for what their career might look like in a professional environment.”
