England’s captain Harry Brook has climbed five spots in the ICC men’s T20I batting rankings, securing his highest-ever ranking at fourth place. The advance is based on an exceptional home series against Sri Lanka, during which Brook scored 170 runs across three matches and notched up an unbeaten century in the first game.
Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed has climbed to the number one spot in the ICC Men’s T20I Bowling Rankings following a major jump in the most recent update. Abrar has taken the top spot from Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan, now ranking No.1 with a score of 736, while Rashid has dropped to second place with 735 points.
Brook is now ranked behind India’s Ishan Kishan, who holds the number one spot in the T20I batting rankings. Abhishek Sharma is in second place, and Sahibzada Farhan is in third. Jos Buttler, Brook’s teammate from England, also made progress in the series, scoring two half-centuries and climbing two spots to fifth in the rankings.
Brook’s form has led to activity in every format. Scoring 67 in the first ODI of the Sri Lanka series boosted his position to 12th in the ODI batting rankings, further enhancing a Test ranking that already has him at the top. He is currently ranked within the top 15 across all three formats at the same time.
The revised rankings open the possibility that Brook could be the sole active batter ranked among the top ten in all three formats- Tests, ODIs, and T20Is- at once. He is already ranked number one in Tests and has reached a personal best in T20Is, with only the ODI rankings left to improve before he can claim that top spot.
