India’s spinner Shree Charani maintained the number one position with a career-high rating. In the meantime, compatriot Deepti Sharma rose four positions to second in the latest ICC Women’s T20I Player Rankings, unveiled in Dubai on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. Charani’s exceptional 4/20 in the Women’s T20 Asia Cup final against Sri Lanka propelled the left-arm spinner to surpass the 800-point mark for the first time, reaching a career-high of 804.
In the final at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, India beat Sri Lanka by 72 runs to win what the evidence indicates is an unprecedented eighth Asia Cup title. The win led to a notable rise in rankings for multiple Indian players in the most recent ICC update.
Charani is now only two points away from matching the highest rating points ever recorded by a women’s T20I bowler, a mark previously set by Australia’s Megan Schutt in November 2018. India’s bowling performance was further recognised as Deepti climbed four spots to second place after finishing the Asia Cup as the top wicket-taker with 14 dismissals.
Seamer Nandani Sharma has risen 10 spots to rank 94th after a strong tournament with the ball, while leg-spinner Prema Rawat has posted one of the week’s largest jumps, climbing 50 places to 96th. In the Asia Cup final, Charani claimed 4 wickets and finished the tournament with a total of 12 wickets. That performance boosted her rating to 802 points on the updated ICC Women’s T20I bowling rankings. She is now the sole Indian bowler to have surpassed the 800-point mark in women’s T20I cricket.
Megan Schutt of Australia leads all bowlers with 806 points, while Sophie Ecclestone of England shares the same score as Charani, at 802 points. Charani had previously reached the number. In June 2026, she held the top position in the ICC Women’s T20I bowling rankings with 753 points during the T20 World Cup, and her jump to 802 points represents a rapid increase in her rating over a short time.
Deepti Sharma was equally impactful with the ball throughout the tournament. She took 14 wickets in the Asia Cup, with figures of 3/19 in the final against Sri Lanka. Those performances propelled her up four spots to second in the ICC Women’s T20I bowling rankings, meaning India now occupies two of the top slots on that list.
