For the BCCI’s top under-23 domestic competition, the CK Nayudu Trophy 2026–2027, Tamil Nadu has selected a pool of 25 potential players. On Tuesday, August 25, the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association announced the news through an official media release.
The state cricket regulatory board has released a variety of players for both competitions, including a different group of players for development. These teams are not the final ones. Before the event, players who are listed on the team lists must report to the camp. The cricket association will choose the final squad based on how well the players perform during the camp.
State associations typically disclose a broader pool before confirming the final squad for each phase. It is unclear if this list of 25 is the final choice or if the state selection committee will still analyse it. Many well-known figures, like Narayan Jagadeesan and Sai Sudharshan, as well as seasoned competitors like Baba Indrajith, Pradosh Ranjan Paul, and Sachin Baby, are on the list of probable candidates for the Ranji Trophy 2026–2027.
The CK Nayudu Trophy 2026–27 Phase 1 is set to start on October 1 and end on October 5, 2026. In their first match, Tamil Nadu will play the rest of India. The match’s location has not yet been determined.
Tamil Nadu is the reigning champion going into the 2026–2027 tournament. The state team will have high expectations for the upcoming season after defeating Maharashtra in the 2025 CK Nayudu Trophy final, which took place in Dindigul.
